24-Hour Adventure

blog 6

Last weekend, my boys took me on a 24 hour adventure to the big Apple. We tackled Manhattan, hitting up Soho, chinatown, Little Italy, Union Square, Rockefeller Center, Times Square and of course Central Park. It was a great day spent with great people. And of course we went dressed in style.

The Key to a 24 hour adventure is comfort. Rompers provide ease while traveling but also make a statement. Pair it with a kimono, comfy sandals and a floppy hat and you’re ready for a day of walking.

Festival Ensemble

I know Coachella has come and pasted however, we are still in the heart of festival season. This means fringe, floral crowns, moonies, and maxi dresses are a must.  This festival season I found the perfect shirt, and Im obsessed with it!

swing tunic

You can find this shirt here along with all your festival needs.

There are several ways to wear this top. Pair it with floral jeans for those cooler summer nights and some Chelsea boots.

This tunic can also be worn as a dress with heels for a night out or with cutoffs for a day in the park or that music festival you have tickets for.

With a headpiece, gladiator sandals and a bold necklace this top is ready for any summer outdoor adventure.

Masquerade

A while back, my school held it’s third annual Masquerade, and much like the second annual Masquerade, I forgot the mask. However, I got super dressed up and had an amazing time anyway.

I didn’t need to purchase a new dress because I searched the back of my closet and unearth an old friend. Spice up an old formal dress with a new statement necklace, a new shade of lipstick and BAM! you are all set to go out in style. Who said formal occasions have to be on expensive? I personally had been dying to wear this dress to another occasion. Here’s a flashback to three years ago:

DSC00462   IMG_3612

Woah, talk about a flashback. I wore this dress to my senior prom and I am still in love with it. (Though I can do without the purple hair and accessories)

IMG_3618

To make the dress feel like new send it out to be cleaned, put on some higher heels, and avoid doing your hair and makeup in a similar way. This will make the look stand out from the dress’ first formal event.

IMG_3647

And my friends were looking pretty fly too, they even let me borrow their mask.

So take out those old prom, bridesmaids or formal gowns for your next formal event. And get to dancing!

Changes

Well Folks, This semester really got away from me. It truly was the most intense semester thus far but… It is coming to a close and I am ready for a summer filled with Proprium Floris!

Here’s some updates though before we kick off the summer with some Fashion…and of course Floral.

Back in March…

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

I got my nose pierced! Im now sporting a little gold hoop, and Im pretty Happy with it.

So naturally in April…

tattoo

I got a tattoo. And it’s floral of course! I couldn’t be happier with the results.

So with a new summer, comes new goals. I plan to at least, once a week have a new post. To amp up the volume with new graphics and better quality shots. I also plan to include more people, different styles, and some fellas (because hey, they know how to dress too).

So here’s to changes! And new Adventures!

When it’s 65 in March

Well people, if you live in the Philly area you know that at one point before the wind became unbearably cold again we were teased with a sliver of spring heaven. It was 65! (Sun’s out guns out am I right?)  What better way to spend the day than avoiding homework to hit the park without tights!!! This hasn’t happened since what, September?

Any hoo, Spring I swear is almost here, and with spring comes all the joys of spring dressing. This is personally my favorite season to dress because frankly it’s the only season both jackets and sandals function together.

IMG_1652

(Okay I wasn’t wearing sandals, but I could tell mother nature was trying to trick us.)

IMG_1653

Dressing spring is so simple, unlike the complicated layering required for winter. Ditch the hats, gloves, scarves, and parka for a maxi dress and jean jacket. That’s all you need to look fabulous! Accessorize with a statement necklace and some moonies and get outside!

My favorite maxi’s for this season have a great all over print. They make a statement while still looking  effortless.

Take it to the streets and soak up that much needed vitamin D. The winter blues are over…well almost. Spring is around the corner which means, its almost practically summer.

Into the Pale

This week I took at little trip with my friend Kristie to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. If you have not been I recommend you go, I find myself standing in the impressionist wing for hours, and you have to practically drag me out of the Cy Twombly room.

Not only does the museum have fantastic art but fantastic places for photos so we snapped a few. As I sit here with a cup of tea snow has finally hit Philadelphia I realize that I really hate winter.  Winter is such a difficult season to dress. Its cold, its gloomy and so many layers are needed just to function.

So I embraced the pale and here are some of the shots.

IMG_1199

Embracing the pale is all about muted color palette and mixing textures with dark accents.

Jewels, fur, lace, curls. Embrace your feminine and flirty side with statement knits and bouncy curls.

So there you have it, kick dreary winter to the curb, go out and see some art in a “sharp” outfit. (Thats what one of security guards told me).

Modern Boho

For the festival fashion enthusiast this terrible thing called winter can put a damper on your crochet maxis and sandals. I myself find this time extremely difficult to dress but NEVER FEAR! I have come up with a great way to keep the Boho in your winter wardrobe and not freeze to death.

MB 7

Keep it simple, and layer, layer, layer. Here I have on one of my summer maxi dresses, tights, and warm knitted socks paired with my winter boots, a oversized flannel, slouchy jacket and knitted fingerless gloves. To tie off the look I added two layering necklaces and a top knot. This is ready for any kind of weather winter decides to throw at us.

Happy New Year everyone! This NYE was certainly one for the books at my house, mostly because I was determined to NOT have another NYE like the fail of a fondue night last year. This year I created a photo booth to document all the crazy that occurred during the holiday festivities (and of course all the fashion).

DSC01390

Over the course of 48 hours an estimate of 60 people came through our house for our annual Macaroni Party and New Years Eve festivities.

We had our fair share of silly:

Some danced:

We Laughed:

And We smiled:

And I’d have to say this group was pretty fabulous:

My NYE look took several different routes over the course of the festivities. Anywhere from flirty fishnets and floral to lace backless dress and red lip. A NYE look is all about glamour. It’s the one night to get dolled up and enjoy yourself. Grab some crazy accessories. Pull out those high heels and strut your stuff. Personally, this year my favorite look was floral mini dress, red lace fishnets, paired with a chunky heel and shaggy coat. Jumped right into 2015 in style. Often my NYE sets my palette for the new years style, I’m thinking there’s a lot more floral in my future.

May your 2015’s be as swell as you are. Stay fabulous, stay silly and most of all get ready for a whole new Proprium Floris in the coming new year!

‘Tis the Season

Happy Christmas Eve Eve everyone! The Holidays are upon us and what better way to celebrate then with sparkle, sparkle, and more sparkle. This year I’m ringing in the Holidays with full sparkle and so is my sister.

DSC01093

The Holidays are all about making a statement, whether with sparkle, fur or both! Here I have a Sparkle dress and shaggy coat paired with knee high socks. Annie took a more subtle approach with lace accents on her maxi sweater with an all over lace dress. She added the sparkle with a crown to top off the look.

Braids and curls are a classic way to get all done up for any holiday gathering whether with family or friends.DSC01103

Keep the color palette simple. Reds, Greens, Golds, Silvers, Blacks and Whites. Any of these combinations can be festive but don’t have to scream holiday if you’re attending a more low key affair and you don’t want to break out the ugly sweater.

Happy Holidays Everyone! From my family to yours.

Holiday Cheer.

Hello Guys and Dolls, This semester really took a toll on me at the tail end but I am back just in time for the Holidays!!

What to wear for those holiday parties can be extremely stressful on top of worrying about the gifts and making your dip to pass etc.. So never fear, that’s what  I am here for. The holidays are about being as festive as possible in my opinion. No, seriously go all out!

Here are some tips for creating the perfect holiday look

1. Find an Ugly Christmas Sweater. Nothing sets the mood more than a conversation piece. Raid your local thrift shops and find a doozy.

holiday 10

holiday 11

Here’s some good examples, though I’m still looking for one that lights up.

2. Wear Festive Colors.  Dive right in with the red and Green, even throw in some gold, sliver and white. The more festive the better.

holiday 7

3. Colored Tights. For those more going out looks, throw on a pair of colored tights with your little black dress for some holiday cheer that is also ready to hit the town.

Holiday 5

4. Sparkle. Need I say more.

holiday 17

holiday 16

There are so many ways to sparkle, and the holidays are a great time to take it to the next level.

5 Velvet. Nothing says holiday party like a good velvet dress.

holiday 2

6. Heels.  preferably black.

holiday 1

7. Statement Necklace. Add some jewels to your look for an elegant finish to any holiday attire.

holiday 15

holiday 14

(And a good crown always brings the holiday cheer to any party).

8. Smile . As corny as that sounds, smile and have fun with it. It doesn’t get better thank spending the holiday season with the ones you love.  Laugh, smile, be merry.

I hope this helps when to comes to picking out your festive look. Have a Merry Merry Christmas Everyone!
