This week I took at little trip with my friend Kristie to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. If you have not been I recommend you go, I find myself standing in the impressionist wing for hours, and you have to practically drag me out of the Cy Twombly room.
Not only does the museum have fantastic art but fantastic places for photos so we snapped a few. As I sit here with a cup of tea snow has finally hit Philadelphia I realize that I really hate winter. Winter is such a difficult season to dress. Its cold, its gloomy and so many layers are needed just to function.
So I embraced the pale and here are some of the shots.
Embracing the pale is all about muted color palette and mixing textures with dark accents.
Jewels, fur, lace, curls. Embrace your feminine and flirty side with statement knits and bouncy curls.
Don’t forget your loafers at home. These are my favorite.
So there you have it, kick dreary winter to the curb, go out and see some art in a “sharp” outfit. (Thats what one of security guards told me).

Happy Christmas Eve Eve everyone! The Holidays are upon us and what better way to celebrate then with sparkle, sparkle, and more sparkle. This year I’m ringing in the Holidays with full sparkle and so is my sister.
The Holidays are all about making a statement, whether with sparkle, fur or both! Here I have a Sparkle dress and shaggy coat paired with knee high socks. Annie took a more subtle approach with lace accents on her maxi sweater with an all over lace dress. She added the sparkle with a crown to top off the look.
Braids and curls are a classic way to get all done up for any holiday gathering whether with family or friends.
Keep the color palette simple. Reds, Greens, Golds, Silvers, Blacks and Whites. Any of these combinations can be festive but don’t have to scream holiday if you’re attending a more low key affair and you don’t want to break out the ugly sweater.

Happy Holidays Everyone! From my family to yours.
We’re moving into the Holiday season, surprisingly Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away! Which means Holiday attire. When it comes to Holiday attire there are two things to remember:
Sparkle and Lace.
A little shimmer and a little lace is the perfect combination for holiday attire. And curls, curls and more curls! For Thanksgiving especially, you want to be comfortable in preparation for that food coma at the end of the night. Simply pair a lacey, breezy tunic with your “fat” pants, add some sparkles in the accessories and pair with a cute wedge. Stylish and prepared, that’s how I like it!
Im ready for the holidays! How about you?
Check out Free People and ASOS for all things lace and sparkle.
Fall is here and Plaid is back folks, and better than ever! With the weather cooling down, and the leaves changing colors, it’s time to talk fall. This year, Clean lines, free flowing tops, and black chelsea boots are a great foundation so you can layer on those accessories. Fall is all about layers, layers and more layers. Grab you’re favorite dark colored pieces and layer with some light neutrals and you will be on par with the current fall trends.
Ox blood, mustard, emerald green, and deep earth tones are in this time of year, along with taupe, and white to keep the mood light and fresh.
Fall this year is about taking it back to the basics, with clean lines, simple silhouettes mixed in with statement, patterned pieces.

This past Wednesday I saw Sara Bareilles in concert and not only was she beyond words talented, but I loved my outfit so I’d thought I’d share. Concert Attire is kind of my favorite occasion to dress for because it gives me permission to be bold with my style, and a little out there.
So in this case, I vamped up my inner hippie with fringe, round sunglasses, gladiator sandals and yes floral. This concert was super great! But while Sara looked like this:
And even gave us a wave
We looked like this:
So I’d suggest that you check the weather before you choose your concert attire. We were quite soggy after that one. But hey, at least we got our Selfie with Sara! Before it poured!
So when it comes to concert attire be yourself, be bold, and plan accordingly for any possible weather infringements.

For the summer I am living in my parents house until I moved into an apartment anticipating the upcoming semester. My room at my parents house has been pretty loyal to me so I thought hey, why not show it off.
When it comes to my space I need to be two things for me.
1. A Sanctuary to come home to. Filled with cozy blankets and pillows to relax in after a long day. Soft elements to keep me at peace and pastel colors to bring me ease.
2. A creative space to feel inspired in. Filled with pictures, art work, and memories. My room needs to provide constant visuals to keep my creative juices flowing.
Its all about the small details and it doesn’t have to be perfectly neat and organize. I want my space to feel lived in because well, it is.
The key to creating a unique and cozy space is to collect things you like and show them off. Make things that bring joy to your life. My room is filled of doilies, dreamcatchers and pink. All things I love most.
I featured Julia a few days ago on my blog and I thought I would highlight our friendship a bit because it is well, quite quirky like we are. Julia and I met in 2009 at a songwriting summer camp. We went together twice before graduating high school. Our family homes are about 3 1/2 hours apart while our schools are 10 hours apart. I’ve seen Julia in person less than 20 times so you’d say our friendship survives solely on Skype dates and last minute meets up off thruway exits.
Here are some flashbacks from our previous adventures…hehe what little babies we were.
Our relationship has been predominantly long distance so the past 4 days she spent at my house we truly hammed it up. Julia and I share the same urge to dress like a faery with layers of lace, florals, and of course a bit of sparkle. Our styles differ but we both lean towards the retro vintage look (just different eras). Julia has a passion for prints and I have a passion for solids. Julia rocks the red lip, I prefer purple. We both have a soft spot for a good dress and pair of shoes. Fashion has been one of our links together, so I was very excited to do a few shoots with her this week.
My Advice, hold onto your friends, no matter how far they go. Julia and I always make it back to each other.
